Make a QR code for Google reviews
Get your review link from your Google Business Profile, paste it into the Link / Text tab, and the code is ready to download.
- Copy the right link. In your Business Profile, look for the option to share your review form or ask for reviews, and copy that link.
- Test it on a phone. Scan the code and check that it opens the review box for your business.
- Place it where people are happy. Checkout counters, receipts, packaging and thank-you cards work well, with a short line such as Scan to leave a review.
- Do not offer rewards for reviews. The Google policies restrict incentivized reviews, so check the current rules before you run a campaign.
- Use SVG for print. It stays sharp on signs and stickers.

What can you put in a QR code?
A QR code is a square pattern that holds a piece of text. When someone scans it with a phone camera, the phone reads the text and offers the right action. This generator makes three kinds:
- Link / Text. A web address opens in the browser. Any other text just shows up on the screen. Use it for websites, social profiles, menus, app pages and short notes.
- Wi-Fi. Enter the network name, the password and the security type (WPA, WEP or none). Guests who scan the code can join the network without typing the password.
- Email. Enter an address and, if you like, a subject and a message. Scanning opens a new email with those fields already filled in.
How this tool builds your code
- It updates live. There is no Generate button. The code changes as you type or change a setting.
- Everything stays on your device. Links, text and Wi-Fi passwords are turned into a code in your browser and are never sent to a server.
- Your text is encoded safely. Letters from any language are supported. In Wi-Fi codes, special characters in the name and password, such as semicolons and colons, are escaped so they scan correctly.
- The code includes a quiet border. A blank margin of four modules surrounds the pattern, which scanners need to find the code.
- The code is static. It contains your text itself, so it never expires and does not depend on this website. It also means you cannot change what a printed code says later.
Choosing the settings
- Error correction. Low (7%), Medium (15%), Quartile (25%) or High (30%). Higher levels let a code still scan when part of it is dirty or damaged, but they make the pattern denser and hold less text. Medium suits most uses.
- Size. From 200 to 1,200 pixels, starting at 512. The PNG is made of whole-pixel squares, so its final size can be slightly smaller than the number you pick. The SVG is set to the size you pick and can be scaled freely.
- Colours. Use a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Light-on-dark or low-contrast colours may not scan on every phone.
- How much text fits. Roughly 2,900 characters at Low and about 1,300 at High. If you go over, you will see "Too much data" and can shorten the text or lower the error correction level.
PNG or SVG?
- PNG works everywhere, including documents, slides and social posts.
- SVG is vector, so it stays crisp at any size. Choose it for print, posters, signs and stickers.
Tips for better results
- Test before you share. Scan the code with at least one phone, ideally two, before printing it.
- Shorter links make simpler codes. A simpler pattern is easier to scan at a small size.
- Keep it big enough. Print it at a size you can scan from the distance people will stand.
- Do not put secrets in a code. Anyone who can see the code can scan it, so be careful with passwords you do not want to share.
- Need a logo or a transparent background? Cut out your image with Remove Background.
- Placing the code on a poster or flyer? Shrink the files with Image Compressor & Resizer, and turn the pictures into a document with JPG to PDF.
- Need a different image type? Image Converter changes PNG to JPG, WebP and more.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the ConvertKit Lite QR Code Generator.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated in your browser, so your links, text and Wi-Fi password are not sent to a server.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code simply contains your text, so it works as long as the link or information inside it stays valid.
Which error correction level should I use?
Medium suits most uses. Choose a higher level if the code may get dirty or damaged, but it makes the code denser. Lower levels give simpler codes.
PNG or SVG?
PNG works everywhere. SVG stays sharp at any size, which is best for printing or resizing.
Why does it say there is too much data?
A QR code can only hold a limited amount of text. Shorten the text or choose a lower error correction level.
Will my colors scan properly?
Use a dark color on a light background with strong contrast. Light-on-dark or low-contrast combinations may not scan on every device.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Open the Wi-Fi tab, type the network name exactly as it appears, enter the password, and choose the security type. WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 is right for most home and office networks. Choose None for an open network.
Why does the Wi-Fi password show as plain text?
The password box is a normal text field so you can check what you typed. Nobody else sees it, because it stays in your browser, but be careful where you use the tool.
What happens when someone scans the Email code?
Their phone opens a new email to your address, with the subject and message filled in if you added them.
Does the QR code track scans?
No. The code holds your text directly and does not go through any service, so nothing is counted and nothing can expire.
Can I change a QR code after printing it?
No. A static code contains the text itself, so a different text means a different code. If the destination might change, point the code at a link that you control and can redirect.
Why is my PNG slightly smaller than the size I picked?
The code is drawn with whole-pixel squares, so the tool rounds down to the nearest size that fits the pattern exactly. This keeps the edges sharp.
Can I add a logo to the code?
This tool makes a plain code without a logo. You can download the PNG or SVG and place a small logo on top in an image editor, then test that it still scans, since covering part of the code uses up its error correction.
Why can't I download yet?
The download buttons stay off until the code has content. Type a link or text, fill in the Wi-Fi name, or enter an email address.
Where do I get my Google review link?
Sign in to your Google Business Profile and look for the option to share your review form or ask for reviews. Copy that link and paste it into the Link / Text tab.
Does the reviewer need a Google account?
Yes. People must be signed in to a Google account to post a review, so the code opens the review box but cannot post anything on their behalf.
