Convert PPTX to PDF without Microsoft PowerPoint
The converter reads your .pptx file inside the browser and draws each slide itself, so you do not need PowerPoint, Office or any add-in. It works on any computer or phone with a modern browser.
Because it draws the slides itself, the result is close to the original but not identical:
- Text, pictures, shapes, tables, backgrounds and bullets are kept.
- Charts, SmartArt, videos, animations and transitions are not included. The file list tells you how many objects were left out.
- Fonts that are not installed on your device are replaced with similar ones, so line breaks can shift slightly.
If you do have PowerPoint and need a pixel-perfect result for a complex deck, its own PDF export is the better choice.

Why convert PowerPoint to PDF?
A presentation file needs PowerPoint, or an app that can read it, and it can look different on another computer. A PDF opens on any phone, tablet or browser and looks the same everywhere. That makes it the usual way to email slides, hand out notes, upload a deck to a website or print it.
This tool builds the PDF on your own device, so business plans, lecture slides and client decks are not uploaded to a server.
How this tool builds your PDF
- One slide becomes one page. Each slide is drawn at the quality you choose.
- Most of the slide is kept. Text, pictures, shapes, tables, backgrounds, bullets and numbering are drawn.
- Latin text stays searchable. The text is added on top of each page as an invisible layer, so you can search and copy it. Text in other scripts, such as Bengali, Arabic or Chinese, looks correct but is not searchable.
- It tells you what it left out. If a slide has objects that could not be drawn, the file list shows how many.
Your options
- Page size: Same as slides keeps the slide shape. A4 and US Letter fit the slide onto a standard page.
- Orientation: Match slides, Landscape or Portrait. It applies only when you pick A4 or US Letter.
- Quality: Standard gives the smallest file, High is the default, and Maximum gives the sharpest pages and the largest file.
- Hidden slides: Skip them, or include them in the PDF.
What this tool cannot do
- Charts and SmartArt are not drawn. The same goes for videos, animations and transitions.
- Fonts can change. Fonts that are not installed on your device are replaced with similar ones, so line breaks can shift slightly.
- 100 MB limit per file. Larger presentations are refused.
- Modern files only. Old .ppt files must be saved as .pptx in PowerPoint first.
Tips for better results
- Check the file list. If it reports left-out objects, look at those slides in the PDF.
- Use PowerPoint's own export for complex decks. For a pixel-perfect result, File > Export > PDF inside PowerPoint is the best route.
- Choose Standard for email. It gives a smaller file. Use Compress PDF if it is still too big.
- Print handouts on A4 or Letter. Pick the page size and orientation that suits your printer.
- Want to join or cut the result? Use Merge PDF and Split PDF.
- Need the slides back? PDF to PPTX turns a PDF into PowerPoint slides, and JPG to PDF builds a PDF from images.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the ConvertKit Lite PowerPoint to PDF tool.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is created in your browser, so your presentations stay on your device.
Will the PDF look exactly like my slides in PowerPoint?
For most presentations it will be very close. Text, pictures, shapes, tables, backgrounds, bullets and numbering are all drawn. Some things are not supported: charts, SmartArt, videos, animations and transitions. If a slide contains objects that could not be drawn, the file list tells you how many were left out. For a pixel-perfect result on a complex deck, use File > Export > PDF inside PowerPoint.
Why do some fonts look different?
The conversion happens in your browser, which can only use fonts installed on your device. If your presentation uses a font you do not have, a similar font is used instead, so line breaks can shift slightly.
Can I select and search the text in the PDF?
Yes for Latin-script text. Each slide is drawn as a high-quality image so it looks the same everywhere, and the text is added on top as an invisible layer so you can search and copy it. Text in other scripts, such as Bengali, Arabic or Chinese, looks correct but is not searchable.
Does it work with old .ppt files?
No. Only the modern .pptx format (plus .pptm, .ppsx and .potx) is supported. To convert an old .ppt file, open it in PowerPoint, choose Save As and pick PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx), then add it here.
How do I get a smaller PDF?
Choose Standard quality. High and Maximum draw slides at a higher resolution, which looks sharper when zoomed or printed but makes the file larger.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add several presentations, convert them together, and download each PDF or one ZIP.
Which presentation files are supported?
PPTX, PPTM (with macros), PPSX (slide show) and POTX (template). Old .ppt files are not supported. Save them as .pptx in PowerPoint first.
What does the page size option do?
Same as slides makes each PDF page the shape of your slide. A4 and US Letter place the slide on a standard page. Orientation can then be set to match the slides, or to landscape or portrait.
Why is the orientation menu turned off?
Orientation only applies to A4 and US Letter. When Page size is set to Same as slides, the pages already match the shape of your slides.
What happens to hidden slides?
By default they are skipped. Choose Include hidden slides if you want them in the PDF.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes. Each presentation can be up to 100 MB. Larger files are refused with a message.
How do I know if something was left out?
If a slide has an object that could not be drawn, such as a chart, a SmartArt graphic or an unsupported image, the file list shows how many objects were not shown for that file.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. Big presentations take longer on older phones, so try Standard quality if it struggles.
Is there a watermark or an account?
No watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many presentations you convert.
Do I need Microsoft Office to use this converter?
No. The converter works in your browser and does not need PowerPoint, Office or any extra software.
Will the PDF look the same as in PowerPoint?
For most presentations it is very close. Charts, SmartArt, videos and animations are not included, and missing fonts are replaced, so check the PDF after converting.
